About Cairn

We're building the most trusted platform for Himalayan adventure travel — where every trek starts with confidence.

Born on the trail, built for trust

Cairn started with a simple frustration. After trekking in Nepal myself, I saw the gap firsthand: world-class local operators with deep Himalayan expertise — but zero digital reach. Meanwhile, travelers spent weeks wading through scattered information, unreliable reviews, and agencies they couldn't verify.

Generic OTAs like Viator and GetYourGuide list Nepal treks alongside city bus tours — no vetting, no depth, no local knowledge. The traveler deserves better. The operator deserves better.

Cairn exists to close that gap. We're an American company built on Nepali ground — our founder is Nepali-American, grew up trekking these trails, and has personal relationships with the operators we list.

We vet every operator. No exceptions.

Every operator on Cairn passes a 14-point vetting checklist before they can list a single trek. We verify NTB registration, TAAN membership, guide certifications, altitude medicine training, emergency protocols, insurance coverage, environmental responsibility, and customer history.

We've rejected many more operators than we've accepted. That's the point. When you book through Cairn, you're booking with operators who've earned our trust — and who'll earn yours on the trail.

Three pillars, no compromises

Trust

Every operator is vetted against fourteen criteria. Every guide is verified. Every claim in our content is checked. We never publish what we can't stand behind.

Depth

We know Nepal better than any platform outside it. Our content answers the questions that no one else will touch honestly — including the uncomfortable ones.

Direct

We connect travelers straight to the operator. No unnecessary markup layers. The economic margin stays with the people who earned it — the guides and local companies in Nepal.
